I am getting the below error while installing chathanz in ubuntu 8.04

anoop at anoop-laptop:~/Chathanz$ sudo dpkg -i chathans-0.2-2_i386.deb
[sudo] password for anoop:
Selecting previously deselected package chathans.
(Reading database ... 227551 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking chathans (from chathans-0.2-2_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of chathans:
 chathans depends on payyans; however:
  Package payyans is not installed.
dpkg: error processing chathans (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 chathans

However payyans is already installed on my box .Here is the O/P to payyans
-v

anoop at anoop-laptop:~/Chathanz$ payyans -v
Payyans Malayalam Ascii to unicode Convertor Version 0.1
