It is possible to use Swanalekha and the other input methods supported
by SCIM in N900 phone. It uses maemo.
The following steps are from this buzz:
http://www.google.com/buzz/106268084729189057266/75WjY8ejvZv/N900Malayalam-kuthiravattan-N900-%E0%B4%87%E0%B4%B2-%E0%B4%B8-%E0%B4%B5

1. Add one more repository
1.1 cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d
1.2 Add one line to the file hildon-application-manager.list, The line is
deb http://repositiory.maemo.org/extras-devel/ Fremanatle-1.2 free non-free
2. Install mscim-tables-additional
2.1 apt-get update
2.2 apt-get install mscim-tables-additional
3. Delete everything except Malayalam*.bin from
/usr/share/scim/tables/ (This is because it is not very easy to switch
between very long list of input methods)
3.1 ls | grep -v Malayalam | xargs rm
4. Open Notes application and CTRL+space to start typing in malayalam.

CTRL+SHIFT to switch between inscript and phonetic methods.
CTRL+SPACE to use standard input(English).3:09 pm

Thanks
Santhosh
