Rajeesh, Santhosh,

I figured out the issue was indeed with the locale setting. But it is
still a bug I think as other applications like gedit can display
Malayalam with C locale. Something you explicitly type should be
displayed irrespective of the locale setting.

Comment on it if any of you can reproduce the bug. For now I set ml_IN
as default system locale and Malayalam is rendered on terminals
(though not perfect).
