Use SMC's swanalekha and just type into terminal. Here is a video explaining that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBF2kyXB8v8 In ubuntu 18.04, I was unable to search it inside software center. If that's the case, use the terminal install method. Above tool will allow you to type into terminal: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/19545678/39394149-f2d3fbfe-4aeb-11e8-838e-b456facb3abc.png

Does it play nice with IBus? The integration with IBus is not seemless - it is imperfect. I am having to enter text in gedit, and then paste it to konsole.

It is indeed possible to output malayalam correctly with a malayalam font on konsole. I've faced difficulties entering text, though. See the image attached.

Hello All,
How to use Malayalam in Terminal?
In this link (https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2013/11/msg01482.html) "അഖിൽ കൃഷ്ണൻ എസ്" says that it is possible to use Konsole to output Malayalam text.
How is it done?--
Thanking You,Appu
