Balasankar,

The term those guys use to refer to the scenario you specified as "responsibility crisis" is "Accoutability", which in turn means to have some physical entity/company to be held responsible/get support. They believe that having such a company behind the project will give them the safety for the money which they're shelling out.

Another reasoning that I read recently about companies preferring Ubuntu over Debian, is its predictable life cycle and LTS support, which is not found in Debian. This had been why manjor hosting provider moved from Debian to Ubuntu and recetly streaning service provider "Spotify" also moved to Ubuntu for the same reason. ( http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/07/spotify-switches-5000-servers-ubuntu ). This had caused Raphaël Hertzog ( a Debian Developer) to post about the importance of succeding with the LTS plan for Debian too ( http://raphaelhertzog.com/2014/07/16/spotify-migrates-5000-servers-from-debian-to-ubuntu/)

The ultimate goal should be the absolute, a community-driven project like Debian. Let the motion begin using any Free OS, say Ubuntu, and we can hope finally another transition, the one from Ubuntu to any community-controlled project, will happen as soon as possible.
