[smc-discuss] GSOC09.. smc project seeking help..

I am a prefinal year computer science engineering student from kerala/
India ( GEC Thrissur), interested in open source development. I have
gone through the wiki page for gsoc project idea of smc for this year
and the projects seems interesting. The project "Batch converter for
documents(doc/odt) with ASCII Font encoded data to Unicode Documents"
seemed quite interesting as I am alittle experienced with python
coding. I have been in the last year gsoc with the project ' Porting
Zope2 to python2.5'  and worked with python c and their API's in a
fairly large code base of Zope. I belief i can study the existing code
for payyans and can edit it to enhance it to do the conversion as said
in the wiki page of project ideas.
And I would like to how can I start working on it, if the project is
still open. I have downloaded the source code for payyans and
installed it,  and The source seems easy to understand also..
