There were multiple attempts to add this functionality in kernel
space. Adding a full rendering engine in the tty driver is not a good
idea IMHO; and is never going to be accepted, Alan Cox among others
have clearly asserted it. Those should be done at the user-space, just
like it is being attempted now.
