I think you meant copyleft. Protecting freedom for all users is not a
necessary condition for being Free Software. There are copyleft (protective
or even sometimes called viral) and non-copyleft (permissive) Free
Software. Examples of copyleft licenses are GPL, LGPL etc and permissive
ones are MIT, BSD, Apache etc and all of them are Free Software licenses.
