Dear Balasankar,
Could you share the shipa's stemmer. Eranakulam, is Named entity, might not
be there at the dictionary(set of words). ആപത്ത്  is noun, should be there
at the list of words. something more than that will be treated as Vibhakti
or case inflection.
I think rules are applicable only extension of the words in the list.
that might be comes under the rules..

> പ്രശ്നമെന്താണെന്ന് വച്ചാൽ, ഈ നിയമപ്രകാരം "ആപത്ത്" എന്നുള്ളത് കൂടി "ആപം"
> എന്ന് മാറ്റപ്പെടും.

> സന്ധിയോ, വിഭക്തിയോ ഇല്ലാതെ തന്നെ, അവ ഉള്ള വാക്കുകളോട് സാദൃശ്യമുള്ള രൂപം
> എടുക്കുന്ന, ചില വാക്കുകളുണ്ട്. (എറണാകുളത്ത് - ആപത്ത്). അവയെ സ്റ്റെം
