Sorry, been out for a few days and couldn't look into this sooner.

Found the issue. Commit b211969e6b1f168 removed the half form of
consonants which is breaking Qt (old) shaper used in 4.8. Need to
reinstate them and revert another commit e4b89f646e0e86c122 which
removed the rules.
These assorted fixes will go into 6.2.

Meanwhile, you can try downgrading to 5.1 version.
