Yes, I'd like things better than Signal, simply because:

(Summary: WhatsApp and similar apps force everyone to use the same app,
while email is interoperable).

But in the case of school communities, the govt hosting a single
instance and making everyone use it won't be bad, as long as it is
libre, right?
