Hi,

My name is Naveen. I had graduated from IIIT-Hyderabad after completing my
MS By Research under Prof. C V Jawahar. More details on my thesis can be
found at
http://cvit.iiit.ac.in/research/thesis/18-thesis-students/32-word-recognition-of-indic-scripts

At present, I am working as a Research Engineer in a company called
MyScript (www.myscript.com). Our company specializes in online handwriting
recognition for several languages.

Minesh Mathew, who is applying for the spellchecker project under 'Indic
Project' has requested me if I can mentor his project in case the
organization do not assign any mentor(s) from their side. I have gone
through his project proposal draft which suggests to use modern ML
approaches to error detection and correction in the context of an
inflectional language like Malayalam. In fact I had earlier worked in this
domain and has a publication in ICDAR 2013 titled as 'Error Detection in
Highly inflectional Languages'.

If his proposal is selected for GSoC I am willing to mentor him for the
entire period.

Looking forward to your reply

Regards,
Naveen TS
