[smc-discuss] Proposal to Specify Optional Conjuncts in Malayalam

ഓപ്പണ്‍ടൈപ്പിലെ locl ഫീച്ചര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു് ഒരു ഫോണ്ടില്‍ തന്നെ പുതിയലിപിയും
പഴയലിപിയും ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളിക്കാന്‍ പറ്റും എന്നാണു് ഞാന്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നതു്.
ഗ്നു ഫ്രീ ഫോണ്ടിന്റെ പുതിയ പതിപ്പില്‍ ഇതിനായി മീരയുടെ തന്നെ ഗ്ലിഫുകള്‍
ഉപയോഗിച്ചു് സ്റ്റീവന്‍ വൈറ്റ് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ടു്. ഒറ്റ ഫോണ്ടില്‍ തന്നെയുള്ള
ഗ്ലിഫ് വേരിയേഷന്‍ ലോഹിത് ദേവനാഗരിയില്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടു്. ആ വഴിക്കായിരിക്കണം
ശ്രമം.

"locl" - This feature is used in association with OpenType language system
tags to trigger lookups that will select alternate glyphs needed for
language-specific typographic conventions. The 'locl' should not be used in
association with the default language system, but only used with other
language system tags.

ഓപ്പണ്‍ ടൈപ്പ് സ്പെക്കില്‍ ഇതിനുള്ള സംവിധാനത്തില്‍ പോരായ്മ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍
അതു് തിരുത്തുന്നതാണു് ഡാറ്റയിലും മലയാളം എഴുതുന്നതിലും വലിയ കോലാഹലങ്ങള്‍
ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിലും മെച്ചം.
