I had a quick look at the Malayalam wikipedia dump to see what people
are expecting:

I couldn't find any single instance where the first 1st rendering
choice is required.
In the PRI 263, the author is quoting Madhavikkutti's "Neermathalam poothappol".
Santhosh has taken this as a testcase for Meera & Rachana.

Can someone please provide a better example where the first rendering
choice is required ?
